Cleaning jobs in the United States are hiring — and none require a degree
Facility services companies hire year-round for janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, and floor care roles, with training and equipment provided. See how to apply today!
Work that is needed everywhere
Every office building, hospital, school, airport, factory, and stadium in the United States has to be cleaned daily, and most of that work is done by large facility services companies under long-term contracts. The biggest providers employ well over a hundred thousand people each and hire continuously to staff new sites and every shift, with most roles open to people with no prior experience.
Which roles are open to those with no experience?
Janitor and custodian, office cleaner, hospital environmental services aide, school custodian, floor care and carpet technician, housekeeper at hotels and venues, airport and stadium cleaning crew, and restroom attendant roles regularly hire entry-level candidates. Employers provide on-the-job training, supplies, equipment, and uniforms, and team leads and site supervisors are promoted from the crew.
What benefits and shifts can you expect?
The largest facility services companies offer health, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees, retirement plans, paid time off, and structured training programs. Shifts are usually fixed and site-based — day shifts at hospitals and schools, evening and overnight shifts at offices — and many companies also offer tuition assistance and clear promotion paths into supervision and facilities management.
